Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2009

Miss- Andrea Lewis, was she serious ? I did notice one thing I liked, I remember seeing those sandals in Nine West, if you favor em' you can cop a pair for $89.
Nine West: Kentaro

Hit!- I love Keke Palmer's eggplant colored leather dress. I think I like her matching pumps even more. Completely age appropriate and sexy at the same time.

I was having a love/hate feeling with Lauren Collin's outfit but then I decided it would be cute for walking around in spring with cute flats or sandals.

I like the edginess of Vanessa Hudgen's ensemble, however I hate boots showing bare skin with tiny shorts, I still see Daisy Duke no matter what.

MISS- Miley looks like a stale wedding cake. Enough said.

Dear Topshop:Why won't it rain Benji's??

Words will not even begin to describe how upset I am that I won't be participating int he TOPSHOP festivities begging on the 2nd. My finances aren't looking so good right now. Kate Moss is definitely going to be there to kick of the launch of her new collection. I love a good fashion tussle but sadly I wont be a part of this one. Hopefully I can make the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection on April 23rd. If any of you fashion babes are heading out to NYC on the 2nd here's some advice:

Go EARLY, the doors open at 11am, I think 8am or 9am would be comfortable. There actually might be girls sleeping in front of the door ( I saw it happen at the Roberto Cavalli for H&M last year) I also advise that you wear comfy clothes and flats, no one cares what your wearing they are all shopping the racks and besides you want to be able to take your clothes of quickly to try on clothes. When you do get inside grab EVERY thing, especially Kate Moss' collection and then barter with the other fashionista's in the room. Bring back up b/c it can get ugly, some people fight. If you make it out alive guard your shopping bags with your life and enjoy!

Click on the image above to watch Topshop owner Sir Philip Green telling us about the store and giving us a speak peak. It looks amazing! I'll be there when all the fuss dies down, maybe I'll catch some impulse shoppers returns.

Leggin' the question

I have a confession, I love wearing leggings, yes, I'm one of those girls who wears them as pants. It's okay I swear I don't look tacky when I do it. Leggings are just so MUCH more comfortable than wearing jeans all the time and the black is very slimming and flattering in many places. For fall 09 I'm seeing lots of over the top leggings decked out in sequins and graphics, all very bold and elaborate. I like the idea of studded leggings but here's MY dilemma. How many times can you really wear your latex, sequined, graphic, or bright ass leggings without someone saying "Oh, she's wearing those leggings again, didn't she wear them last week??" It's the inevitable, people are always going to talk about you, but I refuse to pay $40 and up for a pair of leggings that I can wear once a month! The economy is really kicking my fashionably forward ass . So with that said I'm going to pass on the over the top leggings trend and stick with my basic black or studs and zippers.

Hot lips of frustration

I was telling my best friend the other day that I need an assistant, she laughed at me. But seriously either I need an assistant or a new camera, I took this picture with my phone(clear as hell ain't it??) I had a whole editorial planned but the timer of my phone sucks, and plus it can't stand up by itself. What I REALLY need is a photographer boyfriend, that would kill 2 birds with one stone. I always wanted to try purple lipstick so I found this shade called Fantasia. It's purple in the tube but it shows up as hot pink on me but I still it. My search for a nice purple lipstick continues...Anyone know any good shades?

Myssi's Spring Must Haves: Club Monaco

I need these pieces, I love the vest, it looks "Micheal Jackson"-ish. The strap on the blue dress is removable ( I think it shouldn't have been there in the first place) I don't know which color aviators I like most. I wish I could get them all, but I'm learning towards purple. And the scarf?..Gold Lurex = Love.

Sharing the blogger love

Have you ever wondered how to lace your sneakers like this ? Well Ian's Shoe- lacing handbook will show you all the tricks.

Over @ Red Carpet Fashion Awards you can find a video of Matthew Williamson speaking about his H&M collection due to hit stores next month, VERY major.

Fresh Crop: William Rast by Justin Timberlake

Yup, that's right, another celebrity turned designer collection. Justin Timberlake is trying his had at design, I'll admit this guy is stylish, (and sexy!) but I'm not really feeling his clothes for the ladies. It looks like over priced screen printed tee-shirts and jeans for the masses. I do like the leathers and the mens jeans. The mood of the collection is dark and grungy for my taste. The prices range from $108 to $598, JT will also be making an apprearacne on the Oprah Winfrey show this Friday the 27th to promote "William Rast" Check out the whole collection at Nordstrom.com or WilliamRast.com

YSL inspired Topshop for these..

I'm really excited about Topshop opening on April 2nd in NYC so I was browsing on the website and I came across these shoes. As soon as I saw them I couldn't help but associate them with the YSL cage sandals Becki Newton's wearing below. I'm so cheap so $145 is still a splurge to me. I'm saving my duckets for something huge. But they are cute and drool worthy.

Looks to love: Giselle

I like these looks. I'm calling it Africa Bambada meets modern urbanista diva. I like the big earings and the half braided hair style, circa 1990, my birth year. What do you guys think about top model Giselle and this editorial?
There's that Balmain dress again. =]<">

M.A.C's Sugarsweet Collection

Desserts, make-up, and FREE shipping! I love , no , I'm obsessing over M.A.C.'s new "Sugersweet" collection. The colors are soft and very spring and I can't make a decision on one thing. I'm not really a make-up junkie but I do love eyeshadow and lip gloss. M.A.C. is expensive but the quality and color pay-off of their products are well worth it. Use code SUGARSWEET for free shipping!

Maybe I should move to Paris

I know I'm not the only one who complains that American Vogue is boring in terms of cutting edge fashion, but after reading an article on CNN.com about Roitfeld and rumors of her replacing Anna Wintour as the editor in chief at American Vogue I then realised that the two magazines cater to two very diffrent crowds. "Roitfeld is accustomed to the speculation, describing it as "frustrating." She told CNN she hadn't been offered the job and even if she was she probably wouldn't take it." "I'm very happy at French Vogue to be able to do everything -- almost everything -- I want in the magazine," she said. "It would be too political at American Vogue for me." At Vogue Paris, Roitfeld knows her readers. They are a select group of incredibly stylish and wealthy women who are thrilled rather than alienated by unconventional ideas. At French Vogue, there's less pressure to appeal to the masses. Its circulation of some 139,000 is dwarfed by the million plus readers of American Vogue. French Vogue Fashion shoots are more about fantasy and there's no importance to make any clothes they feature wearable. If it's unusual and innovative, then it's in. As an avid magazine reader, I find joy in making unconventional fashion from magazines wearable, but American Vogue normally features looks that you can wear straight off the pages and thus takes all the imagination and creativity out of it for me. I like Anna Wintour and I think she has been doing a great job as editor in chief since the 80's but I'm starting to feel like our Vogue doesn't cater to my needs anymore. It's watered down and I can't stand it any longer. I want to move to Paris where the covers are celebrity free. Long live Carine.

- US Vogue is also stirring up controversy over Beyonce being on the "Shape" issue. A lot of women are insulted by the "REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES" line. Do you see how politically correct US Vogue has to be? I'm not offended, just give me fashion damn it! I proud of Vogue for featuring two Black women on the cover consecutively, it's a first for the magazine.

Wear thigh skimming boots without the hooker vibe

Paris Fashion week,Marc Jacobs shows us how to wear thigh length boots without looking like a woman working the corner. The trick is VOLUME on top, and lots of it, loose hair and sharp and minimal make-up is good too. No more than 3 inches of thigh revealed and no tight tops. Good luck ladies, if you have the body, rock it, since I'm exactly 5 feet tall I won't be wearing knee-length boots, they swallow me whole! With that said I still like the thought of them.

Louis Vuttion Fall 2009

And now, the details.
"Paper chain" Necklaces
I remember making paper chains in kindergarten, I made rings, bracelets, and rows beyond rows of necklaces in rainbow colors. Leave it to Marc to turn a rainy day art & craft project into couture, I smell a DIY coming on.
Long fingerless gloves
I like the black clutch, I can see Rihanna rocking that one.
Short fingerless gloves

Bag it up

The best of the bunch. I would invest in either the navy or the black and gold tote.

Looks to Love: Mary Katrantzou

I'm feeling Mary K. She's giving us color blocking, graphics, great jewelery, and my all time favorite, transparency. The colors really pop and beats the hell out of a LBD any day. Mary made her debut at London Fashion week last month showcasing sheath dresses with graphics inspired by fragrance bottles. What do you guys think?

New shoes on the block

Nine West ,Ciraco
[Please excuse my unpolished toes! I'm going to fix that since the weather is breaking.]I love Sundays, relaxation, big breakfast's and shopping! Well I had no intention of actually buying something today but I was trying on shoes with my friend Taryn and we both fell in love. She bought black and I copped brown. I'm excited about them because I was depressed that I couldn't find a Balmain sandal look-a-like. But then I came to realization, I should move on since everyone is swooning over those sandals, so unless I have the real thing, everyone will be rocking a Balmain wanna be, AND studs are a big trend for spring. I can't wait to wear them, all 5 inches of em!

Matthew Williamson for H&M

I always get really excited about designer collaborations because the price point is normally watered down, however the prices on this collection are still a little steep. I NEED that peacock dress in my life, I'm willing to stand outside the flagship store for it."The exclusive women’s collection is set to hit selected stores on April 23, 2009, followed by another Summer range for women and men from mid-May. An H&M spokeswoman said the “exclusive” women’s range would be carried in about 200 stores, with the second delivery slated for all of its 1,700 stores."

Karl Lagerfeld CLEARLY means busniess.

Transparency isn't going out of style anytime soon, I have a feeling transparency is going to flow from summer into fall 2009. Karl has done it again at Paris Fashion Week, my heart skipped a beat at the first glance of his new see-through work of genius. There a spot for everything, your lip gloss, your compact, ipod and ear phones, and for everything else you can chuck it in your Chanel purse in the middle. No excuse to lose anything ever! I'm not sure how much this bag is going to retail for but I'm sure its going to make it into the hands of young A-listers and IT- girls alike. I wonder where Karl got the inspiration for this?? Well in my dreams I look just like Jourdan strutting down 7th ave.

Here's some more eye candy, architectural works of art rather. The shiny opaque tights? - Love it madly.

Image of the Day: Arlenis Sosa

I don't know what's more intense, Arlenis's stare or the lime and purple graphic blazer. They are both giving me chills! You can peep more images of Arlenis in TIME magazine over at Black Style Central.

Image of The Day: Kanye, Amber and Anna Wintour??

They say a picture has a thousand words, well this picture is speaking VOLUMES to me. Kanye West and new girlfriend Amber Rose speaking with Anna Wintour at the Givenchy RTW A/W 2009 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week at Carreau du Temple on March 8, 2009 in Paris, France. Amber is wearing the Alexander Wang black transparent dress which I covet and Anna looks like she just saw a ghost, I LOVE IT! This is currently my desktop picture. Take it all in.

Cuteness From GILT.com: Valentino Red

Valentino Red has lower price points that Valentino Pret-a-Porter but right now $200 for a dress is OUT of my college student budget, but these are all exceptionally cute! Click the pic to join Glit.com's exclusive group so you can get in one these member only prices!

I let Solange borrow my skirt..

Well, not exactly, but if she asked, I wouldn't say no. Many people don't like her style, and I'll admit some times she's a bit extra but for the most part I like what she wears and we share a common interest in this yellow Club Monaco hounds tooth graphic skirt.

What I'm wearing:
Applique button down ( it has a cool pattern on the back I'm sorry you can't see it)
Club Monaco skirt,
Victoria's Secret back seam fishnet tights,
Cynthia Vincent suede pumps

A girl can dream...

I saw these bad boys in Teen Vogue awhile back in cobalt blue, ever since I've been waiting for these to drop. I saw them for 100 Euros so I wondered how much that was in Dollars.. It's $210! I knew the all mighty dollar was weak, but God Damnit! I really liked these shoes and I was willing to pay $100 AT MOST for them. But then again I feel like I can find a cool pair in a consignment store somewhere, if I'm lucky. Head on over to topshop.com to look at the whole Unique collection.

Looks to Love: Balmain Spring 09

OK, so everyone is drooling over Fall 09 right now, I'm being realistic, I'm working on my spring stuff. I read an article about Christophe Decarnin in my January Harpers Bazaar and how he jolted the Balmain named back to life. IT'S FANTASTIC! And it's my style wrapped into one, nice jeans, tough jacket, simple top, and some slammin shoes! Thanks Cristophe, can I call you Chris? This is a start to a beautiful relationship. I did a little fast fashion looking around to try to emulate the look, it's not as edgy but here's what I came up with. What do you guys think??

BIG girls need LOVE too.

Our favorite BIG girl, Beth Ditto from the band The Gossip takes it off for LOVE magazine.

Beth is no first timer either, the American indie rock singer posed for NME magazine back in 2007 . Normally a figure like hers would never grace a cover, let alone NUDE however Beth Ditto has been voted as one of the coolest persons in rock and has been nominated as sexiest woman of the year. [ By who??]Her non-conformist ways and fashion has helped her become one of today's It- Girls . She's a lesbian and a feminist and she's in a relationship with a transman. Weighing in at 210 lbs, she's undeniably a BIG girl but someone over at LOVE thought she possessed all the right qualities that made her the first cover girl of LOVE magazine, which btw is currently sold out!

– I say go Beth you rock on with your big bad self!

Looks to Love: Baby Phat Spring 09

I currently don't own anything Baby Phat and I never have but since we have to be ressionista fashionistas these days I don't mind heading to Macy's Jr's department to cop these looks. I usually feel like Baby Phat clothes look tacky and have a terrible fit, I'm not a fan of big logos in foil either. Unfortunately I have a fatal attraction to Kimora Lee, I REALLY like her, maybe it's un-natural, I even read her book "Fabulosity" from cover to cover. I'm definitely feeling these spring 09 looks. They arn't too bad as long as that damn kitty logo doesn't show up anywhere. I like the femininity of the lace and the lavender color in the two dresses, and Ombre skinnys are kind of appealing to me. What do you guys think?
