Looks to Love: Herve Leger Fall 09

Herve Leger Fall 2009
Embellished
Max Azria made the right move by purchasing Herve Leger back in 1998 because since the line of body-con dresses have shot off into fashion stardom. If it's mini and tight, I LOVE it. These are my favorite looks and the hairstyles compliment the Urban Glamazon look Azria's got going on. "For Fall the designers wanted to move to "the beat of an urban tribe," so they chose a muted Saharan palette and successfully played with texture through weaving and insets of exotic skins". I adore the gray printed mini dress with the boxy shoulders. It's 80's with a modern appeal and I would definitely wear it with ease. I love automatic style outfits. What do you guys think of the collection?

The Real Myssi: Waiting to Exhale

Payless STEPS it up

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano and Payless Shoe Source have teamed up to create what I'm calling the BEST Designer collaboration IN HISTORY [WAY BIGGER THAN MCQUEEN FOR TARGET]. The diffusion collection will include shoes and handbags inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphics that are set to release for Fall 2009. I'm PISSED, my father used to work for PPS back in the 90's (goodbye discount) The line is priced between $25 and $45 which makes it very accessible. I want at least 3 of the heels, the only problem is now every girl could be rocking the same pair of spiky pumps from Payless, That doesn't make me feel unique but Christan's talent definitely is.This collection is a much needed Jolt to the dying discount brand. Would you rock it ??

I'm Lovin it: Nicki Manaj

Where have all the GOOD female rappers gone? That's a question I've been asking for awhile. It seems as if they all died out, got arrested, moved on, or just got plain ol' wack and played out. Nicki Manaj, born Onika Maraj, 23, is a Queens native who is setting the industry on fire with her underground hits. She has been compared to the likes of Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown because of her sexually explicit lyrics but "It's important that people actually listen to my music" says Nicki. "Because the last thing I want to be known for is my crotch." Nicki says she had sleepless nights before her infamous bikini clad poster was released. "I'm not this wild crazy stripper!" says the rapstress. She knew in order to make a mark she was going to have to do something drastic. I first heard Nicki in 2008 on "Million Dollar Baby" Featuring Max B and Knocka. Her flow is sick and her lyrics are ridiculous, I knew I had to put her on my radar. My favorite songs include "Autobiography" Baddest Bitch", and "Still I Rise". This girl has a real talent her lyrics are deep and beyond the bedroom. Some of her fashion choices are questionable but her voice is undeniably HOT. I would love to be her stylist. Nicki Minaj was discovered by Fendi, the CEO of Brooklyn label Dirty Money Records. He heard tracks on her MYSPACE and contacted her to be on a DVD mixtape called "The Come Up"."This installment of The Come Up was "The Carter Edition," and had segments with Lil Wayne and Jay-Z, Nicki's video immediately proceeded Wayne's. Wayne who at the time was putting together his Young Money crew, was so impressed by the video that he immediately began pursuing her for the label and the rest was history. Check out her music!

Editors Note: I'm Back!

Hey Fashion-ites,

I'm back!! There is NO place like NEW YORK! Home sweet home. I had fun in Bmore but I didn't get to take as many pictures as I promised. There was no time in between shows to take good pictures of our costumes. While in Maryland I was pissed because before I left I received an Email from Teen Vogue inviting me to LeSportSac's 35th Anniversary party at their Soho store which was on Thursday the 19th. If I can recall, on the 19th I was in Maryland most likely sprawled out on a floor, dead tired! A wise person once said, there is no such thing as luck, you make your own luck, by being in the right place at the right time. I , however was in the wrong freaking place at the wrong time!! I'm over it now, there will be other parties to go to but I learned that it's impossible to have two passions. They will never work. I've struggled between Dance and Fashion for awhile but I know I'm going to have to make a decision soon. Well I'm back, Style is resumed!

Too Hot to Trot

Forget Chanel on your feet, how about tippin' in a pair of Lamborghini Pumps? I found these CONCEPT [dammnit!] pumps over at Nitrolicious, look at the details on these bad boys!According to Autoblog, “Designed by Modo illustrator Tim Cooper as a potential product from Tonino Lamborghini, the firm run by Ferruccio’s son whose bluetooth earpieces, perfumes, smoking accessories and coffee makers we’ve shown you previously.” ~ while somewhat silly, what really grabbed me was the attention to detail in the rendering… from the lights and exhaust, to the hexagons on the sole, and the carbon fiber heel… it’d be a hell of a conversation starter. It feels like luxury transformers meet barbie heels." These heels are a major head turner whether your dressing them down with skinnys for a night out on the town, or sexin' it up with a mini dress. It's a double whammy, what more could a man ask for, hot girl, in HOT shoes! What do you guys think?

Because I want to be just like MC Hammer, but cuter

I have a fatal attraction to this years spring trend; the harem pant. I usually don't do trendy, but I want these pants to work for me REALLY badly. I tried on a cheap pair from Forever21 and they were too big and badly cut. I stood in the mirror and starred at the pants that were swimming on me, even Aladdin would have disapproved. I turned to BCBG and they have a pair for $238. [ pssht! ] I wouldn't pay that price for a trend that's going to be over soon. I've seen more subtle styles that aren't as baggy in the crotch that could survive for a couple of years paired with a fitted top and a nice blazer, sleeve rolled up of course! What do you think? Tres chic or Tres fou? Is it "hammer time" for any of you guys in fashionbloggerland?

Cuteness from GILT.COM: More Jacobs

Marc by Marc Jacobs SILK FAILLE TIE NECK TOP $84.00, originally $220.00

I LOVE this top! I would pair it with a high waist skirt and a cute thick belt, but $84 really turns into $94 after shipping, and $100 after tax. And when this lovely fuchsia and navy sleeveless top becomes $100 it's no longer worth it. My feeling's are very hurt right now, this recession is killing me. Is the economy affecting your fashion decisions? Hey if it's not and you would like to get in on the GILT Groupe deals, click here, tell em Renee sent ya!
