You Should Know: Jean-Charles De Castelbajac

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, also known as JC/DC,[1] born 28 November 1949 in Casablanca, Morocco, is a fashion designer. As the Marquis de Castelbajac, he is a French nobleman. He has enjoyed international success with some of his creations, including a coat of teddy bears worn by Madonna and by supermodel Helena Christensen in the film Prêt-à-Porter. Recently JC de Castelbajac has befriended designers such as Cassette Playa and The Coconut Twins [KESH & ZEZI]. His fashion archive was showcased in preparation for his retrospective "Gallie Rock" in Paris by photographers Tim and Barry, modelled by Cassette Playa, M.I.A., Jammer, Matthew Stone, Slew Dem Crew and more. As well as his imaginative clothing collections the designer also creates home furnishings.

I like JC/DC's designs, it reminds me of House of Holland or Jeremy Scott, they all have that eclectic edge to their designs. He also designed Eddie Murphy's costumes for his starring role in Coming to America in 1988 and he styled Farah Fawcett for the hit TV series Charlie's Angels in the mid 70's. JC designed the infamous "Obama Dress" seen in his Fall 08 RTW show in Paris.

Rainbow one shoulder dress I ADORE from his spring 09 collection. I have a thing for rainbows, my friends think I'm secretly gay.Livia Giuggioli, attended the Mamma Mia! premiere in London wearing JC/DC.

"Creepy but COOL":Barbie Massacre Jewelry

I've always wondered what happens to the Barbie dolls of the world that are thrown away after their owners abandoned them underneath the bed without their clothes. [Barbie I'm sorry] Brooklyn art jewelry designer Margaux Lange creates unique and very intricate pieces of jewelery from Barbie parts. "I enjoy the funny juxtaposition of wearing the body, on the body. Barbie has become the accessory instead of being accessorized" says the 29 year old artist. As amazing as her artwork is, it's not cheap as Barbie's plastic pumps, prices range from $50.00 to $180.00. Check out Margaux's blog, portfolio[ a must see] and etsy shop. My favorites are the bracelets and the brooches, Margaux if your reading, when I'm famous I'll be a frequent customer for those brooches.

Heaven comes in a NAVY BLUE BOX

I told you guys I have an obsession with Ralph Lauren, and today my blazer came in the mail [ i did a lil' dance when the fed ex guy came]. Anyway its even nicer in person, here's a picture. I love it so much I just want to wear it with everything. Every person needs at least ONE perfectly tailored blazer, u can't call yourself stylish without it. Oh yeah, I only cost $70.00! For some that's up there but I thought it was a steal, I couldn't click away.

Food for Thought: When is brand "TIRED"

Okay, no fluff here, EVERYONE loves Herve Leger dresses, including me [ I wish I could afford it b/c I have a great body for one] but my main reason for this post to is ask How do you know when a brand is "played out" or if it's become a "classic". I feel like Herve Leger is a household name now just like Chanel or Louis Vuitton because these are brands that are EVERYWHERE as far as I'm concerned. E very girl is entitled to look and feel sexy. And that's exactly what Herve has done, he as created a shape that make women look and feel amazing, so who are we to say " we're tired of it"? If that's the case I'm tired of "LV" logos and Chanel's "double C's". Mr. Leger's iconic skintight dresses should be considered a wonder of the world because the results [for most wearers] are amazing when you slip that sucker on. I cant wait to see how he reinvents his collection for next season, this oughtta be good.

Looks to Love: Club Monaco

More favorites from my new found love, Club Monaco. [by the way, Ralph Lauren owns CM] * another side note, I just realised I have an obsession with Ralph

Here's a lil' something for the fellas, I'm sorry I was being sexist, from now on I'll try to post mens' fashion that catches my eye.

Looks to Love:Chanel Iman in Harpers Bazaar

I LOVE to see black models, specifically brown skinned girls( even if they're mixed) in high profile magazines. Since we don't see this too often I have to share, all shades of women are beautiful and model Chanel Iman is doing her thing in the December edition of Harpers Bazaar, she looks amazing. ( kinda makes me wanna grow my hair out)

I really want a pair of these pants

Melissa Plastic Shoes

Does anyone remember when "Melissa plastic sneakers first hit the scene? It was probably 2001 or so, and it caused a major frenzy. I remember I wanted a pair (glad I didn't) some of them were transparent, scented and came with 2 sets of laces. I can remember seeing them in DSW like it was yesterday, around the same time I also discovered the brand "Luichiny" ( I haven't seen much of them lately) Anyways Melissa has been working on her "plastic dreams" again, I like them in a "green" kind of way. When I think plastic shoes, this is exactly what comes to mind.
Pamela Anderson clad in booty shorts and a ski hat in Miami.
Pam is wearing the Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon .I think these shoes are cute as a novelty, but I personally couldn't imagine wearing them, and I'm sure they wouldn't be very friendly to your feet either. Would any of you wear plastic shoes?

The real Myssi: Back To School

12.09.08

This is what I wore when I went to my old high school to pick up my transcript ( which was unsuccessful, b/c they're unorganized) It was weird walking through the hallways not "having to" go to a class there, but the whole time everyone kept complimenting my boots.

American Eagle ruffle polka dot button up, American Eagle true boot jeans, vintage belt and earings, Tory Burch boots.
