Designer Profile: Reem Acra
I got the fantastic opportunity to meet notable fashion designer Reem Acra last weekend. Reem was born in the middle east and has an immaculate eye for European fashion. She got her first big break when she cut up her mothers finest tablecloth into a dress which then got noticed by a fashion editor at a party and the editor pushed her to attend FIT. She then became an exchange student in Paris, while studying abroad she had a high profile socialite friend who asked her to design her wedding dress. The dress got rants and raves reviews and in a split second Reem joined the bridal industry. Ms. Acra also designs RTW with a European flavor which is feminine and sophisticated. She is now one of my favorite designers and it was a pleasure to meet her.

A New Direction
Hello all, It is I, Renee, I'm not dead! I had to place Myssi D on hold for awhile to keep up with other events in the pursuit of my fashion career. I am now a make-up artist and stylist (of course) .Here's a sneak peak over the weekend I worked on a project with Haute Glamour and I worked with up and coming Designer Cody Sai for looks for his Spring2010 Collection. Check them both out. Much more to come because I've got a lot cooking, its just that it's difficult to find the time to post everything w/o a laptop. I miss everyone and all of the great bloggers I 've been fortunate to come across. Stay Flyy.

Fashion News: Pat Field Won't Return to SATC
As the Sex in The City sequel is in the works, a huge chunk of the production is missing, beloved stylist Patrica Field who has worked on the show since it's creation. Actress Sarah Jessica Parker wanted the film to reflect the economic climate but Field ain't having it. "I don't use the recession as a reference for my creativity" says Field. I guess "Ressionista" isn't in the girl's Vocab. I hope Pat reconsiders.

Beauty Break: Artistry Lip Color
After weeks of searching I finally found the perfect sheer Red lip color! It goes on smooth and makes my lips feel super soft. A friend of mine referred me to the Artistry brand. I've always wanted to wear red lipstick but every time I put it on no matter what shade I felt like a hooker from the 1990's. MAC was to thick for my liking so I was really happy when I received my package. Check them out HERE.
What I'm Wearing:
Emma Watson in Teen Vogue
Teen Vogue snatched up Actress Emma Watson for their August issue. This may be the best Editorial I've seen in Teen Vogue. I was at stage where I felt as if I was too old for Teen Vogue but the stylists have redeemed themselves! Emma looks so mature and chic! Take Notes!

Look Of The Day: Molly Simmers
Actress Molly Simms attended the 13th Annual Webby Awards at Cipriani in NYC wearing a shocking pink sequined mini dress. I'm not sure who designed it but I love the color. I also like Molly's choice of a nude peep toe pump. The color compliments her outfit without trying too hard.

Meester gets cheeky!
Actress Leighton Meester arrived at the 18th Annual MTV Movie Awards held in Cali wearing a uber sexy and unique cut out dress by Spanish designer Emilio De La Morena. The transparency leaves little to the imagination, and I love it! I could also see Amber Rose wearing a piece like this. I'm also impressed by Leightion's choice of shoes the purple booties complement the edginess of this outfit better than any black Christian Louboutin's around.

Style Commander: Rihanna
Rihanna continues to amaze me. I post about her style more than any celebrity she may even get her own section of the site. Here she's pictured out and about in NYC. Rihanna understands details. Details like rolling her cuffs or a jeweled collar on a jacket, or even the accessories she chooses adds ounces of style at a time.

Tres Chic: Spring Footwear
I'd like to introduce a brand I've recently discovered. Maybe I'm late but a store popped into my mall over night and I had to do some research. Spring Footwear is a subsidiary of the ALDO shoe group. All of their shoes are priced from $10 to no higher than $80, isn't that great! My advice for when it comes to buying shoes is buy cheap trends and invest in your basics. Spring has REALLY cute trendy shoes, here's a few of my picks. Shop their website by clicking Here.

Wannabe Wangin'
When I first saw Alexander Wang's transparent squiggle dress I was ready to wipe out my savings because this was a WORK of art. Now we don't have to break the bank to look like Ms. Rose. American Appearal relased a couple of Alexander Wang "inspired" transparent mesh style dresses that will foot the bill. Just head to your closest craft store, buy some trimmings and get creative. POOF! Bangin' wannabe Wang in a instant!
Here's a lil' something extra while we're on the mesh topic. This deep-V body suit has wardrobe staple potential. You can wear it virtually underneath anything! My choice would be with skirts and high waist jeans. I'm going to check AA out this week!

Honorable Tee Time
Anna Sui and Koi Suwannagate designed these fabulously exclusive T-Shirts in honor of Asian Pacific Heritage month. The T-shirts are sold for $60 exclusively at Nordstrom department stores. All proceeds directly benefit a scholarship fund for college bound Asian Pacific American students thorough the OCA, an organization committed to helping students achieve their goals. My favorite is the "faux necklace" Tee with the lace and ribbon details. For only $60 you can rock a Tee inspired by Anna and Koi's spring 2009 collection while giving back. I love Fashion with a cause!

Anna Sui, right on Target
Mark your calendar's! Discount retail super store Target has conjured up another deliciously desirable designer collaboration. Their target this time?? Miss Anna Sui known best for her quirky designs. This collection's inspiration derives from the character's of the CW'S hit series "Gossip Girl". So expect Blair-like jeweled head bands and cute rebellious school girl outfits, but then again, you never know! The collection will launch from September 13 through October 17 and is set to hit 250 select Target stores and Target.com. Anna's aesthetic reminds me of Betsey Johnson and I'm super excited about this collection. Are you guys excited about the new colab?
